As a multi-channel retailer we are always looking for passionate individuals who want to help shape our digital future. In Technology we have six areas:


Service, Security and Infrastructure (we call it 'SSI') who look after our core infrastructure, our service teams and our cyber-security team

Legacy Simplification, this team looks at our aging or end of life applications and looks to replace them with more strategic platforms

Application Development and Maintenance (we call it 'ADM'), who look after the development of our systems, data and the maintenance of these apps

Strategy and Programme Delivery, this area focuses on partnering with our business to understand their strategy and how technology can support, architecting that technology and then delivering it

Governance, PMO and Commercial, who look after the projects and programmes in technology and the money we have available to spend

Digital who support and develop our three primary websites -, and ASDA groceries

We have 3 apprentice opportunities available starting in May 2020:


1x L3 Software Development Technician within the ADM Team, progressing onto L4 Software Developer

1x L3 Software Development Technician within the ADM Team, progressing onto L4 Software Tester

1x L3 Infrastructure Technician within the Client Infrastructure Team, progressing onto L4 in either Network Engineer / Software Developer or Tester / Cyber Security Engineer

What will you be doing?
You will be studying for your level 3 Infrastructure Technician or your level 3 Software Development Technician qualification (similar to A levels) while working in either the Client Infrastructure function or the Application Development and Maintenance function. During the course you'll spend time working in the business allowing you to apply your learnings to your role and then you'll then complete your level 4 following the successful completion of Level 3.


We're looking for someone who's passionate about Technology and Digital, someone who will always puts the customer first and is enthusiastic, driven and can balance learning and working. No experience is necessary but we will look for a Minimum of 5 GCSEs grades A-C or 9-4, including English and Maths.
If your application is successful you'll be invited to an assessment day on Monday 30th March which will last all day.
