Learn to Lead with Asda Academy
Delivered by our Asda Academy team, Lead Asda is all about giving our colleagues everything they need to become incredible leaders here. With tailored leadership learning with all the essential skills and beyond, we’ve got fantastic suite of modules for you to choose from. Whether you’re looking to build influencing skills, learn how to create a high performing team, or how to support your colleagues’ mental health, the wide range of content on offer is all designed to help you grow.
The curriculum is split into levels, from essential skills that all great leaders need to advanced leadership levels. That means you can choose a learning module that’s the right fit for you, based on your current role, experience, and depth of skill required.
We’re also so proud to say our Lead Asda curriculum has been accredited by the Institute of Leadership! This professional recognition is a real gold standard. So having this accreditation for our leadership learning programme sets us apart and really illustrates we provide the most-up-to-date approach and content.
Growing with Asda Apprenticeships
Since 2017, over 2,400 of our colleagues across all nations have completed an Asda apprenticeship. And not only gained a recognised professional qualification, but developed new skills, knowledge, and behaviours, and got hands-on experience on how to make an impact in an ever-changing business. Every year, we’re taking on new apprentices and offering new programmes to our existing colleagues, helping them reach their potential. From HGV drivers to retail colleagues, our Home Offices, or more broadly Leadership and Management… just to name a few.
Our Apprenticeships offer has also been recognised outside of Asda. It’s just that good.
Back in 2023, we won the Macro Employer of the Year award for the Yorkshire & The Humber Region in the National Apprenticeship Awards, and went on to be national finalists!
In 2024 we were finalists for the Large Employer of the Year award in the National Apprenticeship & Skills Awards for the Yorkshire & The Humber Region.
We were also finalists in the West Yorkshire Apprenticeship Awards for both Large Employer of the Year and Diversity & Inclusion Programme awards.
And in 2025, we won the Large Employer Award at the West Yorkshire Apprenticeship Awards!

From shadowing experienced colleagues to bite-sized learning content or our incredible range of apprenticeships, you’ll develop the skills you need to grow into your next role at Asda.
We also have a dedicated training programme for our Retail Managers. Heading to one of our Retail Training Stores across our regions, you’ll build your technical confidence and competence through structured hands-on training and experience.
